What Is the Uniswap Wallet? An Honest Review

The Uniswap Wallet is a self-custody mobile (and extension) wallet from the same team as the Uniswap DEX. Swapping is the center of the interface, which is honest product design: they built a wallet so more people could reach their AMM without living in a browser extension. I have no sponsorship or affiliate relationship with Uniswap.

What It Is

A hot wallet with a seed phrase, multi-chain EVM support, an NFT view, and a swap button that routes through Uniswap's aggregator. You can import an existing seed or make a new one. It is not the Uniswap web app, and it is not a centralized exchange.

Strengths

Swap quality is the point. Routing is the family business. For EVM token-to-token trades this is often cleaner than a generic wallet's built-in swap tab.
Fewer tabs. People who only wanted to trade on Uniswap without MetaMask's surface area get a smaller, more opinionated tool.
Self-custody by default. The company does not hold the keys. Losing the seed is still your problem, which is the correct problem.

Weaknesses and Honest Warnings

It is still a hot wallet on a phone. Drainers, fake dapps, and malicious tokens all still work. Uniswap Labs does not review every token the router can reach. Permissionless cuts both ways, same as the DEX review.
In-app swap convenience can hide gas and price impact. Read the preview. Tight slippage still matters. A DEX aggregator is not a bodyguard.
Ecosystem gravity. Solana users want Phantom. Power users who sign ten protocols a day may still want Rabby for simulation. This wallet is Uniswap-shaped.

Who It Is Good For

EVM users whose main on-chain act is swapping, and who want one reputable app instead of a browser full of extensions. Who should skip it: anyone looking for a vault (use hardware) or a Solana daily driver. Pair with Revoke.cash and the two-wallet habit on my Security page.
