If you searched for crypto consulting, or a crypto expert near you, this is the page that says what I actually do. I'm John Alewine. I sit with people, one at a time, and we do the thing they're stuck on, usually with a screen shared or a laptop on the table. That might be a first withdrawal, a bridge, a wallet that needs to be set up so it still exists next year, an NFT purchase, an ENS name, or the slightly cursed path from Coinbase onto Hyperliquid. I don't have a token to sell you, and I don't promise anything will go up.

Who Consulting Is For

Beginners who feel lost, the ones who've heard of Bitcoin, maybe bought a little on an app, and don't trust themselves to move it. People who've been in crypto a while and hit a wall: the wallet, the taxes, the hardware device, the approval they signed two years ago. Anyone who wants a calm walkthrough before they do something irreversible. If you're looking for a hot tip, a managed account, or someone to hold your keys, I'll say no. What a Session Looks Like

You bring the question. There's no curriculum and no funnel. If you want to understand a wallet, we set one up together on your device, and the seed stays in your hands the whole time. If you want to move money, we do a test send first and we read the network name out loud. If you bought bitcoin years ago and can't find it, we hunt through the obvious places before anyone panics. I've spent a lot of hours on exactly that kind of afternoon, which is why the practical tasks, bridging, and Hyperliquid pages exist. They're the write-up of work I used to only do live.

Sessions are one-on-one, over the phone, on video, or in person in Kansas City when that's practical. I'll tell you when a free page already answers it, including Start Here and the Security page. I'd rather send you to a guide than bill you to read it aloud.

What I Do

Explain wallets, seeds, hardware, and how not to get drained.
Walk through a first send, a test withdrawal, a restore test, a bridge, or a Hyperliquid deposit.
Sit through practical tasks like an NFT buy or an ENS registration, which I've written up on the practical tasks page.
Help you write an instruction letter a tired family member could follow.
Translate taxes, exchanges, and cards into plain English. I am not your CPA or your lawyer.
Give a second look at a setup you already have, including what I would change and what I would leave alone.

What I Don't Do

I don't promise returns or guarantee profits.
I don't recommend specific tokens to buy or sell.
I don't ask for your private keys or seed phrase. Ever.
I don't earn commissions or kickbacks from any product I recommend. (Two disclosed affiliate links exist on this site, on the exchanges and cards pages. Consulting does not depend on them.)
I don't manage your funds or ask you to send crypto to any address.
