Install a wallet extension only from the official store
Fake wallet extensions steal keys, so install only from the official store and read the developer name before you click install.

Malicious browser extensions are one of the common failure modes on the Security page. These are fake wallet extensions that steal your keys. The fix is short: only install from the official store, and verify the developer before you click install.
Before you click install
- Go to the official store yourself. Do not follow a link from a message or an ad.
- Check that the developer name matches the wallet's official site.
- If a new extension asks for your seed phrase, stop. Never type your seed phrase into a website.
An AI chatbot or a search result can hand you a link that looks right. It cannot check which extension is real for you. Open the official store yourself, read the developer name, and the decision stays with you.
Phishing sites can look identical to real wallet services, so the same slow habit helps there too. The full list of failure modes lives on the Security page, and Start Here covers the basics. If you want to understand a wallet, we set one up together on your device through consulting, and the seed stays in your hands the whole time.
